Last weekend I found myself headin’ to Doel, a small town in the vicinity of Antwerp (Belgium). For those of you who aren’t aware with the history of this little town in Belgium, I’ll try to enlighten you all…
Situated beneath a nuclear power plant along the river “De Schelde”, the town drew the short end in a long battle with the harbor of Antwerp, as it will be totally demolished due to the further expansion of the harbor. A couple of years back people were forced to ‘sell’ their homes or got evicted. What remains is a pile of ruins, a couple of hard-headed inhabitants (mainly squatters), a huge amount of trash and great pieces of street art. Its for this last element we headed on over to Doel.

I suggest you pay it a visit while its still there and you can take a look at all of the pics I took over on my flickr account btw. Out.
