Epitaph

South African artist Faith47 is known for her unique style and elegant gritty work with a spray can it seems. Her images live on broken down cars and old factories, down dusty side roads in lost towns, inner-city alleyways and highways, large buildings and small shacks. Flowing over from the streets on to oil canvas, prints and illustration with a certain sense of purpose.

All I know is that I recently saw Epitaph, her latest work, for which faith47, rowan pybus, and inge beckmann closely worked together to produce. Its a short video piece which catches your attention right away. “An exploration of lost spaces entered through sounds and images to reveal the echoes of empty rooms, flakes of paint, swollen curves, fragile lines, stories hidden in the flat colors broken apart by wood and steel…” The third (defintely also check the others on YouTube, Vimeo or whatever) in a series of videos that faith47 and rowan pybus have been working on.

Once I made OUT I wanted to feature this clip overhere I dediced to google some things and ended up on UitInVlaanderen. Seems there currently is an installation and video presentation by Faith47 in Bxl until the 21st of november.

Oh yeah, one more thing… did I mention its free?! So defintely go check it OUT!!
