Sometimes I really wonder what it must be like to grow up or live in Japan or another Asian country. The following ad just reminded me af that. Its an anime themed commercial for Nike which features a futuristic sneaker wearer battling skyscraper size robots.

What’s not to love about the whole anime & manga culture. Out.

Team William‘s You look familiar is without any doubt one of the coolest vids I’ve seen in a while, I kid you not. I have not even started about the track itself. It looks so familiar to a cartoon I once saw, but I just can not seem to place it. Seems these local cats made it on to Boing Boing with the vid. They describe it as “animation with a Fleischer Bros’ bounce” whatever that may be. All I know is that some parts are NSFW. Reminds me of the following Flairs clip we once mentioned. Out.

Truckers Delight animated video clip directed by newcomer wunderkid Jérémie Perin (Premiere Heure) who takes the song’s title (a tribute to those little pleasures that the lonely truck- driver indulges himself in) and takes it to the next level. Think Spielberg’s Duel + Russ Meyer’s Faster Pussycat Kill Kill! and Marc Dorcel’s wildest fantasies. All warped into an 8-bit Sega era style graphic. And this clumsy and somehow pretentious description doesn’t even come close to what you’re about to see: it’s très funny,très dirty, -très sexy. Très Flairs indeed.

It host a wide and ever expanding range of communities on it hillsides, and its this last feature that has brought forth a whole freeboarding scene. Now a crew of these freeboarders took over a SF street by night to create a real life video game of their own. It reminds me of the GAME OVER project directed by Swiss artist Guillaume Reymond, where people sitting in an auditorium get moved around in a stopmotion clip in order to create tetris. It was the 4th video performance of the GAME OVER project, which he directed. Out.

Busted… You read “Porn?!” and thought ‘lets have a look’! We knew you’d click on through after having seen those magic words! Well what you see is what you get, and that’s “Cyporn”, a set of animated pixel porn scenes running on a Game Boy. Its an art installation brought to is by Pierrick Thébault, who’s a French user interface designer and journalist for Amusement Magazine. He blogs about the convergence of art and media and is interested in video game development. He is also the founder of the llllllllllllllll (L16) Collective and is inspired by his stay in Asia to create interactive installations involving dolls, user generated content, and imagery from Kawaii.
