I ain’t going to deny it, I must confess, I have been a Lil’ Wayne fan ever since I discovered his mixtapes a while back. I had always known Weezy was around as part of the ca$h money label, but wasn’t a fan of the whole bling bling-thing. It seems though that the passed years he has been able to rethink himself. Where Kanye & Jigga (to name a few) took the game to a new & different level, Wayne did his parallel thing music & fasion wise.

In my eyes it started with his mastering of the mixtape culture, fueling its rebirth throughout last year. Never before have we seen top-selling artists flood the net as the passed months with them. Anyone who’s anyone releases mixtapes, but Lil’ Wayne drops mixtapes like no other making him probably one of raps hardest working artists. This was one of the elements which was captured in a documentary on Wayne’s life, which attempted to get beyond the persona that Lil’ Wayne is. Lil’ Waynes previous mixtape (as there is a new one over here) has been spinning through my speakers for a while now, and there are 2 tracks in particular I sometimes loop: Knockout & Drop the World. This last track features Eminem and after having performed it together at the grammy’s this year it has been released as latest single.

Anyways, a longer post to get to the new Weezy vid. Dark, but I like it. Out.
